Southern Maryland Shotokan Karate Club is a non-profit Karate club dedicated to practicing Shotokan Karate in cooperation with the St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks. All students train in the fundamentals of stances, punching, kicking, striking and blocking. Competive Karate is not emphasized. However, as the club is a member of the ISKF, there are competitive avenues for those students interested in competition and we have several students who compete successfully.
